JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial planning and analysis activities. This position provides in-depth financial analysis, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and contributes to forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting efforts across multiple business segments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial and operational reports, offering actionable insights and identifying key trends that impact business performance.
- Develop financial models to analyze profitability, costs, and revenue trends, with a focus on providing recommendations for operational efficiency and cost optimization.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as cost to serve, margin performance, and other financial metrics across business segments.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support the development and management of the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with business leaders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Maintain and refine financial forecasting models and tools to improve the accuracy and clarity of financial projections.
- Financial Reporting Tools & Dashboards:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial reporting platforms and dashboards, ensuring that reports are timely, clear, and relevant for both internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Provide insights through ad hoc financial analysis and reports to senior management, enabling informed decision-making.
- Collaboration Across Functions:
- Work closely with operations, sales, and business units to align financial planning with business objectives, supporting initiatives that promote revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive financial accountability and strategic alignment across business operations.
EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- A CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-4 years’ experience in financial modeling, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize, and manage deadlines under pressure
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- Ability to work with people at all organizational levels
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, x-lookups, financial modeling), with experience in business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) a plus.
- Experience working with large data sets and translating them into actionable insights.
