What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician position at Rochester Optical?
Rochester Optical was established in Rochester, New York, in 1932. At the time, the owner recognized a growing need for protective tactical eyewear among the Armed Forces, aircraft pilots, and police officers. Later, Rochester Optical became one of the few manufacturers of military prescription glasses frames in the country, supplying both the Army and the Air Force with combat-ready ballistic eyewear for soldiers. After World War II, the tactical eyewear company expanded its services to include creating and selling prescription eyeglasses to the public. Rochester Optical quickly became one of the leading manufacturers of glasses frames and prescription eyeglasses in the area, producing many popular styles of the time with polarized tints.
Since then, Rochester Optical has expanded its operations to include a large, full-functioning optical lab, a wholesale business line and stock lens facility, and developed wearable device solutions utilizing augmented reality technology.
