SUMMARY:
The Director of End User Computing (EUC) will lead and oversee all aspects of the end-user computing experience within a large hospital system, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and adherence to Rochester Regional Health IT standards. This role involves managing the team responsible for desktop engineering, desktop support, asset life-cycle management, and overall end-user technology strategy across multiple hospital sites and clinics. The Director will drive innovation, manage vendor relationships, and foster an environment of continuous improvement, aligning the EUC strategy with organizational goals and clinical priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive end-user computing strategy that supports clinical and administrative functions across the hospital system.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to align EUC initiatives with the overall IT and digital transformation strategy.
- Anticipate technology trends, particularly in healthcare, and integrate emerging tools and methodologies to enhance the user experience.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of EUC professionals, including desktop support, desktop engineering, asset life-cycle management, and other endpoint support roles.
- Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and support of end-user devices, including laptops, desktops, carts, wall-mounts, mobile devices, and virtual desktops.
- Develop and lead initiatives to improve the end-user experience, ensuring technology aligns seamlessly with the workflow of healthcare professionals and administrative staff.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations by establishing policies and practices for data security, access control, and auditability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in end-user computing or IT support services, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in desktop and mobile device management (e.g., SCCM, Intune), VDI solutions (e.g., Citrix, VMware), and experience with ticketing and ITSM tools.
- Relevant certifications (such as ITIL, PMP, CISM) preferred.
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: L - Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; requires occasional walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00
