Emergency Department (ED) – Fast-Paced, Expert Care for a Diverse Patient Population
Join our Emergency Department (ED), a 26-bed unit where we provide rapid, high-quality care for a wide range of patients, from pediatrics to geriatrics, in both medical/surgical conditions and minor injury/trauma. Our ED also specializes in the rapid assessment and treatment of stroke (cerebrovascular accidents), ensuring patients receive timely, life-saving interventions. We are proud to be a Mercy Flight landing site, with a helicopter landing pad conveniently located on the hospital grounds, allowing us to swiftly receive critically injured patients.
The nurse-to-patient ratio fluctuates based on the day of the week, time of day, and staffing patterns, typically maintaining a ratio of 1:5, which allows our team to provide individualized, focused care while managing a high volume of patients. Nurses in this dynamic environment are experts in rapid assessment, triage, and immediate interventions, playing a key role in saving lives and improving patient outcomes.
Our nursing staff works rotating day, evening, and night shifts with 12-hour shifts (6 AM - 6 PM or 6 PM - 6 AM). Every other weekend and holiday are required, ensuring a balanced schedule while providing critical care in urgent, high-stress situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patient Satisfaction. Solicit and respond to patient feedback to improve service and processes that will enhance the patient experience
- Medication Administration & Reporting. Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal
- Documentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record process
EDUCATION:
- AS: Nursing (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PAY RANGE: $38.22 - $50.96
