Pay: $15.71 - $21.03 per hour based on experience (earn 18% increase with PIL program)
Schedule: M-F

About the job:
The Administrative Assistant will provide professional and efficient clerical support to the facility, resulting in the delivery of excellent internal and external customer service. This role will directly interact with all levels of staff, participants, visitors and vendors, both over the telephone and in person.
Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. - High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum one-year of office or clerical work
- A minimum of one-year (1) experience in working with the frail or elderly population.
- Knowledge of and experience in Microsoft programs is essential, typing speed of 35 WPM.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to handle a variety of interruptions on a regular basis.
- Must be able to function independently and be able to work effectively with other personnel.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and in other capacities when necessary.
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
- Only acts within the scope of his or her authority to practice. Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Senior Community Care and approved by CMS before working independently.
- Ability to meet the requirements identified in “Essential Functions"
Essentials:
- Assumes responsibility for designated clerical and receptionist duties at front desk.
- Receives incoming telephone calls, screens for correct transfer and connects with appropriate party.
- Greets and directs visitors; greets, screens and directs salespersons as advised.
- Monitors for building safety and initiates emergency response when necessary.
- Coordinates with maintenance department to ensure building is properly maintained.
- Receives, sorts and forwards incoming mail; receives and routes package deliveries.
- Competent in VOANS SCC Emergency Medical Procedures.
