TITLE: Social Worker
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master’s degree in social work or counseling.
2. Hold or be eligible for licensure or certification in social work or counseling.
3. Minimum of three years professional experience in social work or
counseling.
4. Other qualifications as may be deemed essential for successful performance
in the position.
5. Such alternatives to the above as recommended by the Superintendent
and deemed appropriate by the Rochester School Board.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools or Designee.
JOB GOAL: To serve under-resourced families by coordinating school and community
supports to ensure the successful participation of children in our schools and to promote the engagement of their families in the education process of their children.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and other terms and conditions of employment shall be governed by negotiated contract with extended service as approved by the School Board.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individual student and group counseling.
- Provide case management to individual students to secure services promoting intellectual, social and

- Serve as a conduit between the school and parents in communications related to education issues,
- Conduct assessments by means of conferencing and home visits to determine family strengths and
- Collaborate with school staff and families in the design of academic and social-emotional interventions
- Coordinate implementation of specific intervention plans determined through school staff and family
- Facilitate the design and implementation of parent education and parent involvement activities.
- Complement school and district efforts to ensure appropriate school attendance, including involvement
- Serve as the school liaison for community medical, mental health and family service agencies.
- Maintains sufficient and accurate documentation as mandated by district practices and policy.
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping
- Maintains professional competence through in-services education activities provided by the district and
- Evaluates and improves program services on an ongoing basis.
- Performs other such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Director or designee.
