JOB TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services

POSITION PURPOSE:
The BCBA provides consultation to teachers regarding students with social and behavioral challenges including, but not limited to, participation in Functional Behavioral Assessments, development of Positive Behavior Intervention Plans, training of staff on data collection, analysis of data, and direct individual student intervention. The BCBA also provides behavior analysis services and behavior management plans for students, provide support and professional learning to school site staff, paraeducators, and parents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention techniques.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the delivery of direct and/or consultation of behavioral services to our students.
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments as needed to identify problem behavior.
Develop appropriate Behavior Intervention Plans to correct problem behaviors and modify as needed.
Provide ongoing training to classroom staff and monitor the daily implementation of behavior intervention plans in the classrooms.
Analyze data collected by classroom staff, in order to determine the effectiveness and develop evidence-based interventions.
Address behavioral difficulties and provide crisis intervention as needed for identified students.
Ensure appropriate contact with parents regarding behavioral issues.
Assist Teachers and Crisis Interventionists in the development of and monitoring of discrete trial programs.
Assesses behavior; identifies specific procedures for increasing and decreasing behaviors, including various instructional procedures and schedules of reinforcement; and designs performance monitoring for overall program and procedural integrity.
Assist in creating visuals and materials necessary for BIPs.
Conducts and interprets functional behavioral assessments when needed
Provides descriptive and functional analysis based on data collection for the purpose of adjusting instructional procedures and practices
Selects appropriate assessment tools; administers assessments, and interprets data to make research-driven decision for intervention strategies
Conduct observations and provide consultations for additional students and classrooms as referred.
Makes data-driven recommendations to facilitate plan implementation including environmental accommodations needed to implement functional alternatives when eliminating behaviors
Develops methods for observing, recording and displaying data, with an understanding of reliability and validity as it relates to data, and making decision based upon interpretation and visual analysis of data
Develops positive behavioral intervention plans
Applies principles, processes and concepts of applied behavior analysis (ABA)
Models for and trains staff regarding the principles of ABA and behavior
Consults and collaborates with school staff regarding specific student behavioral concerns, providing intervention guidance as needed
Attend IEP and other meetings as necessary.
May require home visits for observations.
Performs other related tasks as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations, as well as school board policies, regarding education and students.
Demonstrates competence with the concepts of behavior management and applied behavioral analysis and applies the dimensions of applied behavior analysis when developing interventions for student success across the developmental and academic continuum (PK to 21 years of age)
Demonstrates professional competence in the area of teaching students with communication disorders and autism spectrum disorders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in a related field.
BCBA Certification/Licensure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of three years’ experience working in a school setting.
JOB TYPE: SCHOOL YEAR
This is a 7.5 hour work day 185 day position with paid sick days, paid holidays, and PTO days.
Pay: $75,000 - $85,000 per year
