Winter Openings for Special Ed Paraeducators (Entry Level will be considered)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with students who have special needs, providing them with support and assistance in both academic and non-academic settings. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting special education teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs, both inside and outside the classroom, using proactive strategies to prevent escalation and promote positive behavior.
- Reinforcing lessons and instructions provided by the teacher to ensure comprehension and learning.
- Assisting students with personal care tasks, if necessary, in accordance with their individualized plans.
- Collaborating with other staff members, including teachers, therapists, and administrators, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicating regularly with teachers and parents/guardians.
- Implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the guidance of the special education teacher and behavior specialists.
- Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage and reinforce desired behaviors.
- Documenting and tracking student progress, including behavioral data, and communicating effectively with team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or training in behavior management or special education is preferred).
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a special education setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Willingness to follow behavior plans and adapt interventions based on individual student needs.

Pay: $14.96 - $25.10 per hour
