We are a growing company operating self-storage facilities in the Midwest, New York and Pennsylvania. We are seeking a reliable person to fill a full time self-storage sales associate position at Rochester, NY facility. This position requires availability on weekdays and at least every other Saturday. We also need someone that is very handy to help with general maintenance and small repairs around the facility.

Our company puts a big emphasis on supporting our team and creating a positive work environment. Our offices are all closed by 6pm so there are no night hours! We have also added lots of online features for our customers to promote more contactless service.

Overview of the position: helping customers with all their storage needs, following up on sales leads and inquiries, processing payments, managing delinquencies, and keeping the facility in the best shape through light maintenance and frequent property walks. A great mix of desk and non-desk functions.

This is an hourly position that will require working Saturdays.

Qualifications:

  • Requires high school diploma/GED equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in sales, retail management, and/or customer service.
  • Must be able to work well with people demonstrating a customer care focus even when communicating in writing and over the phone too.
  • Exhibit a professional, positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • A willingness to learn (and ability to learn quickly) and apply effectively new/revised processes and procedures or skills.
  • Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office) required.
  • Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, policy manuals and maintenance instructions is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.
  • Ability to multi-task accordingly in a customer-focused environment. Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: The Self-Storage Sales Associate has no supervisory responsibilities but will assist with direction of onsite contract workers in the absence of the Regional Manager (where applicable).

Compensation: $15 to $16 / hr - Hourly Non- Exempt - Benefits include, but are not limited to: health insurance, 401K with match, and vacation/sick leave.
