JOB TITLE: Lead Maintenance Technician
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician is an experienced, dependable and hard-working team member with previous experience completing maintenance service and repairs independently and as part of a team. The position also serves as the lead contact for campus operations when the Director of Operations is unavailable. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, responsible for completing maintenance requests by diagnosing issues and making repairs in a timely and professional manner.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 2 - 3 years of technical, vocational or on-the-job training in the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred HVAC license and/or applicable certification. At the discretion of RCU, additional compensation may be awarded depending on the licenses/certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General maintenance of current offices, dorms and academic buildings
- Service and repair small machines
- Complete electrical and plumbing repairs/replacement
- Complete drywall, painting, and carpentry work
- Perform heating and cooling repairs/replacement
- Complete campus grounds work and housekeeping requests as needed
- Perform proactive / preventative maintenance projects as requested
- In the absence of the Director of Operations, direct and oversee the work of others

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Ability to lift 75 pounds or more as needed
- Attention to detail and completing quality work
- Ability to maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule
- Availability for after-hours/weekend emergency maintenance calls and snow removal
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to drive a snowplow truck, shovel and salt sidewalks
- Ability to operate lawn equipment to include commercial mowers
- Possess a proactive sense of urgency to complete work orders
- Computer skills to use work order system
