JOB
The position will minimally work 16 hours per week and could be scheduled between the hours of 6AM - 6PM.Operates County bus or van transporting elderly and disabled riders throughout the County. This position also supports and promotes the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the Human Services Department and performs in a manner consistent with the HSD Professional Standards and "Commitment to My Co-Workers." 75%- Provide door-to-door service for elderly and disabled passengers.Assist passengers from the first door encountered at the building to the vehicle. Drivers may open the first door of the building, but do not go inside. Provide reasonable assistance to the passenger, e.g. offering an arm, pushing a wheelchair if needed.Fill out required daily paper work following each shift.Promote good public relations for COA in this highly visible service.20%- Vehicle Maintenance Perform a "pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle using checklist provided.Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean interior of van and keep it tidy and sanitary.Keep vehicle filled with fuel5%- Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge of vehicle maintenance requirements.Ability to get along well with people and present a good image of the ADRC-Aging Unit.Possess the personal attitudes and aptitude for successfully relating to and providing service for the elderly and persons with disabilities.Ability to work independently with a minimum supervision.Skill in driving the county van during difficult weather and traffic conditions.Ability to follow directions.Ability to work varied hours when necessary.Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.Ability to operate a tablet and google mapsAbility to operate a two way radioAbility to present a professional image. Ability to be subject to random alcohol / drug testing under DOT / FTA guideline Ability to operate county van/bus on all surface, county and interstate roads within Rock CountyPossess knowledge of the street layout and major destination points in Rock County.
