Configure, deploy, manage, troubleshoot, and support complex IT systems (switches, routers, wireless controllers, wireless AP's, and firewalls) and IT initiatives as directed by the IT Infrastructure Supervisor and in coordination with the Network Engineer II and Senior Network Engineer. Assists and supports the implementation of new technologies. Setup, configure, and support internal and external networks. Installs and configures remote connectivity over the WAN and VPN including L2TP and IPsec tunnels.
Develop and maintain network component inventory, related documentation, and technical specifications information. Develop and maintain procedures and associated documentation for network resource administration and appropriate use. 
Identify network support requirements following industry standard best practices and make appropriate software and hardware upgrades. Utilize enterprise monitoring and management tools to support network services, troubleshoot faults, and ensure that networks are running efficiently. Rapid response for network performance issues, correct problem(s), and implements solutions. Monitors and analyzes systems and appliances to optimize performance; monitors network activity, and maintains system configuration backups, performance, error, and recovery logs. 
 
Support network systems including but not limited to circuits and fiber infrastructure, External DNS, email archiving, IP Address Management, web filtering, spam and firewall systems, terminal services, remote access and VPN, wireless networks, routing and switching environment, including disaster recovery support for those systems. 
Collaborates, implements, and carries out disaster recovery procedures. 
Work with the cybersecurity team to deploy, and support required policies and services to defend against cyber threats and remove vulnerabilities. Identify mitigation strategies for remediation. Work with vCISO and Managed SOC and provide logging for the SOC. Provide Tier 3 security remediation and mitigation. 
 
Manage vendors, and contractors to implement and manage network products and services. Make and review recommendations for additional equipment and technologies as necessary. Provides higher-level technical support, training, and guidance to administration, co-workers and end-users.
May be required to work flexible hours or be available for emergency response for network failures; will be on-call and may travel to remote sites for on-site support as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Supervisor. 
Work with and coordinate with the IT Public Safety Systems Supervisor. Oversee the NetMotion VPN tunnel used by all emergency vehicles in Rock County to communicate with the public safety network.  Oversee the wireless network used by Rock County for both Radio Communication and data transmission.  Monitor and configure network equipment used for all 911 voice, data, and radio networks. Support public safety IT staff in trouble-shooting network related issues. Assist in setup of squad laptops and work with end users who have problems with connecting to the numerous applications. Provide general network technical support for 911 and member agencies.  

10% - Manage public safety wireless (Microwave) network connections to all remote sites.

-Review System Logs for interruptions in the network
-Verify strength of signal for different connections.
-Coordinate repair of failed connections.
-Coordinate upgrades of hardware/firmware when necessary.
-Identify improvements needed as network needs change.

10% - Manage NetMotion system for all public safety system agencies.
-Create Logical Groups for police/fire/EMS agencies
-Created necessary paths for local agency networks
-Maintain User Accounts
-Upgrade Software System as necessary
-Document client upgrade/install instructions.

20% - Troubleshoot public safety network issues as they arise
-Determine steps necessary to correct network issues
-Correct, Repair, Replace failed equipment as needed.
-Work with County staff and/or vendors to take corrective actions.

15% - Support network systems including but not limited to circuits and fiber infrastructure, External DNS, email archiving, IP Address Management, web filtering, spam and firewall systems, remote access,  including disaster recovery support for those systems:

10% -  Assist 911 Communications Center users with computer issues, and with the installation and maintenance of PC Systems.  

5% - Assist networking staff with other county-wide network projects.

20% - Project Management

10% -Assist with support of remote software support and installations at county agencies.  Including cellular modem troubleshooting and hardware configuration.

5% -Perform other duties as assigned-  Working knowledge of Cisco products.
-  Working knowledge of Windows Domain administration.
-  Working knowledge of networking, to include: routing, DNS, and sub-nets
-  Ability to use networking diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, Solarwinds, iPerf
-  Ability to logically troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
-  Ability to communicate information technology issues with non-technical users.
-  Knowledge of a variety of software systems including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
-  Ability to prepare and present concise, logical and conclusive oral and written reports and 
    recommendations regarding complex programs and issues. 
-  Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate data.
-  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County Officials , department 
    heads, local law enforcement agencies and their staff and other employees. 
-  Ability to diagnose network failures. 
-  Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
 - Degree in Information Technologies or related field. 
- Two (2) years of responsible work in Information Technology. 
- Experience with Cisco products. 
- CCNA certification preferred. 
- A combination of training and experience that meets the above listed requirements. 
- Ability to pass FBI security check. 


Physical elements:
     - Ability to stand, walk, and sit for periods of time.
     - Ability to stoop, bend, and crawl, i.e. under a desk or back of a vehicle to hook up equipment. 
     - Ability to climb into emergency vehicles (e.g. Ambulances, Fire Trucks)
     - Ability to climb ladders, work in small areas, outdoors, and us basic hand tools.
     - Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, or in excess of 50 pounds of force 
       frequently, or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
 
 
Equipment use:
     - Ability to use a computer and computer keyboard.
     - Familiar with the use of other types of office equipment such as printer, copy machine, fax machine, 
        etc. 
 
Working conditions:
     - Most work is indoors, but outdoor work is necessary at times.


Salary : $36 - $40
