Full-time - $45,000 to $65,000

Rock Harbor Church is seeking a Worship Leader/Pastor. The primary responsibility will be to lead the Worship Music of the Weekend Worship Experiences that incorporates heartfelt worship. We are seeking an individual who is gifted, passionate, and creative with experience in leading a thriving worship team. The Worship Leader/Pastor will work in partnership with the Lead Pastor in planning the weekend worship experiences and seasonal special events. We highly value a high-quality and authentic worship experience that seeks to lead the congregation in glorifying Jesus and enjoying His presence.

We are a church plant with the Evangelical Covenant Church (www.covchurch.org) who had their first public Sunday Worship on October 5th of 2019. We are in the thriving small beach town of Melbourne Beach, FL. Rock Harbor is a growing church and with a vibrant children’s ministry. We have a multi-generational representation on Sunday mornings as well as on our Leadership Team that includes both men and women. During Covid, our church had to leave the public elementary school where we had our first service and enjoyed worship experiences on the beach, at the park, outside the school, and online. We saw how God used this time just like the early church to move us to meet more people and share with them the Good News of Jesus. Then we received a call from the pastor of the local Lutheran church, and they invited us to use their facility and we had our one-year birthday as a church on the first Sunday of October 2020 in their building. In February of 2023, we purchased the entire property and now have a sacred worship space and incredible property in a great location.

Currently, there are numerous remodeling projects happening in almost every space around the church that is transforming the space to a welcoming place to meet for groups of all sizes as we appreciate the traditional elements while bringing in modern elements. The sanctuary is getting a new stage design, professional noise mitigation, and new lighting. This project is being led by one of our core team members, Jake Gosselin (founder of Churchfront).

We are ready to bring on to our staff a worship leader that has a love for this community and believes in the vision of Rock Harbor to come together, creating safe space for everyone to love, laugh, and live out the Good News of Jesus. We are currently planning to begin a service for Sunday Worship in October.

The title of pastor is available for this position and will depend upon the person’s call, experience, and willingness to be credentialed in the ECC. Once they achieve credentialling a strong retirement program will be provided.

Worship Leader Responsibilities:

• Organize and lead the Worship Ministry of RHFL.
  • Actively lead music weekly during Worship Experience.
    • Generally, includes three to five songs.
    • A requirement is to be a musician that can lead worship through keyboard or guitar.
      • Have knowledge of other instruments.
  • Plan all music for the Weekend Worship Experience.
    • Coordinate with the Lead Pastor and technical team.
    • Provide insights to the multimedia presentations, drama, style and other aspects of the Worship Experience.
  • Lead an effective Worship Team.
    • Lead worship rehearsals.
    • Recruit and develop the volunteers of the music ministry.
    • Train and develop individuals in their skills.
    • Disciple the worship team to grow in their relationship with Christ and one another.
  • Lead Seasons Worship Events
    • These are special worship times and outreach events that we do through out the year. Previously this has included Good Friday at Paradise Beach, Easter Sunday at the Beach, Quiet nights of reflective worship focused on the Holy Spirit, and coordinating community events at the parks.
• Plan & coordinate the Technical Needs for RHFL Worship Experience & Events.

Qualifications:

• 5 Years of Experience as a Worship Leader.
• Ability to lead vocally and musically with a piano or guitar.
• Experience at a church with modern worship.
• Committed to God, having a testimony of conversion to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and fulfills the Biblical standard of a church leader. (Romans 10:9)
