PAES Lab Instructor
32 hours per week
Schedule: Monday Friday - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (with some flexibility)
New Hopes Education Department has an immediate opening for a PAES Lab Instructor. This position is grant-funded and hired through Kelly Services, independently of New Hope. This position is not a New Hope position and does not include New Hope benefits or offer overtime pay.
Summary: The PAES Lab Instructor provides a safe and therapeutic learning environment for residents. He/She engages students in activities such as the PAES Lab System, WorkKeys, online career and college readiness programs, and remote volunteer opportunities to promote career and educational development of residents. The Vocational Instructor will also conduct appropriate assessments to gather data for the development of Individualized Educational Plans and Transition Plans.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing a quality and differentiated education experience for every student
- Providing a safe and therapeutic classroom environment
- Data collection including grades, assessments, and student portfolios
- Communication with teachers regarding student grades, behavior, and needs
- Administering vocation and transition assessments
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior teaching or job coaching experience
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
