Job Description
Under general supervision, plans and directs nursing care for the residents in accordance with established philosophies. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments; participates in all phases of education and the maintenance of records. The unique job functions outlined are designed with a focus on safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates an understanding of growth and development issues with regard to the populations under their care.
- Demonstrates an understanding as well as an ability to work within the specific milieu of the population under their care.
- Assists in the management of aggressive residents as needed, using only de-escalation and behavior management techniques approved by New Hope Treatment Centers.
- Provides documentation in the clinical record of resident behavior and interventions.
- Administration of prescribed medications and treatments within the scope of practice.
- Transcribing of physicians orders on appropriate forms.
- Adheres to standing orders for admission procedures and the administration of over the counter medications as needed.
- Reports the medical needs of residents to the physician and coordinates medical care required.
- Responsible for nurse case management duties.
- Oversees through completion, nursing assessment and lab work within required time frames of admission.
- Participates and acts as contributing member of multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Assumes responsibility for orientation of new nurses.
- Knowledge of current pharmacy manual, pharmacy protocols and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participates in critical reviews, TSPs and or any other meetings related to the residents.
- Completes other related tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
- May be required to change work schedule including days assigned, number of hours assigned with possible weekend and holiday work assignments.
- May be required to be part of Nursing On-call schedule.
Schedule:
FT days 7am-7:30pm (rotating schedule)

Education/Experience: Must possess a current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in a state with compact privileges. Basic computer skills are a must.
