Transportation Aide Job Description
Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant I -Transportation supports the programs and the facility by providing transportation services as directed (i.e. agency/patient transportation, medical or office supply pick-ups, miscellaneous pick-ups, etc.)
 
Essential Functions
•    Provides all functions required for patient ancillary visits.
•    Provides for airport pick-ups and family visits.
•    Provides administration errands when schedule permits.
•    Maintains the up keep of the administrative van.
 
Additional Responsibilities
•    Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by the Nursing Department, including administrative functions.
•    This position supports all facility transport needs.
•     
Environmental Factors
1. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
2. This position requires the ability to sit for an extended period of time.
3. This position falls under Category III of the OSHA Infection Control Program. Under Category III, the tasks associated with this position do not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. None of the duties associated with this position will require the use of personal protective clothing or equipment.
 

Qualifications

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years’ administrative experience.
 
Essential Characteristics
1. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
2. Has knowledge of and insists upon the rights of children and adolescents as patients in this facility.
3. Sound administrative skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) products.
4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, referral sources, and the general public.
5. Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions and technical or medical terminology.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
 
Organizational Relationships
1. This position is accountable to the Administrative Services Coordinator.
2. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
