Cardiovascular Perfusionist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Perfusionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Perfusionist will play a crucial role in managing and operating the heart-lung machine during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, acute care, and the ability to work effectively in a hospital environment.

Duties

• Operate and monitor cardiopulmonary bypass equipment during surgical procedures.
• Administer medications and fluids through IV infusion as directed by the surgical team.
• Perform catheterization procedures as necessary to support patient needs.
• Maintain sterile processing protocols to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to provide comprehensive care.
• Conduct venipuncture for blood draws and IV access as required.
• Document all relevant patient information accurately in medical records.
• Stay current with advancements in perfusion technology and techniques.

Requirements

• Certification as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of pediatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in medical terminology related to perfusion and acute care settings.
• Experience with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) management is an asset.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Pay

• $141/hr - Regular
• $212/hr - Overtime
• $1246/wk - Stipends
