Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide support to patients with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Help transport patients within the facility as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient conditions and any changes observed.
- Assist in medical procedures under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians.
- Participate in patient education initiatives as directed by healthcare professionals.
Skills
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatrics and acute care practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely while adhering to proper techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Epic is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment within a Level II Trauma Center or medical-surgical unit.
