Retail Lead Associate (Full-Time)

Job Summary:

Rock Outdoors is looking for a Full Time Lead Associate for our Winston-Salem location. The ideal candidate is passionate about the outdoors including paddlesports (i.e. kayaking, canoeing, SUPs) camping, and fishing, as well as educating our customers about the best gear for their next adventure!

Responsibilities:

• Functions as point person and departmental person in charge in absence of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, including opening and closing the store

• Demonstrates excellent customer service standards and leads by example

• Demonstrates advanced product knowledge and develops/maintains awareness of new products.

• Assists in cross-training other associates in product knowledge

• Accurately processes and prepares merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards

• Maintains organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the floor and participates in the maintenance/cleanliness of the entire store

• Follows all company policies and procedures, including loss prevention guidelines to deter theft.

• Supports and embodies a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect

• Participates in safety awareness and maintenance of a risk-free environment

Requirements:

• Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including weekends and holidays

• Possesses excellent customer service skills, communication and listening skills, ability to learn and execute the concept

• Possesses strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Capable of handling multiple tasks at one time

• Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking

• Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation

• Works effectively with peers and supervisors to accomplish tasks

• High school diploma or GED required

• Watersports knowledge required

• Retail customer experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
