What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Laborer position at Rock Pros Landscape Supply?
Summary of Position
Yard laborers are required to primarily load customers utilizing front wheel loaders ( Komastu, John Deere, Case) as well operate a crown forklift and refill propane tanks. All worker are required to be knowledgeable in material to fulfill orders received via walkie radios from sales office. Must be able to work hand-in-hand with others in a fast pace environment and follow directives closely, familiarize themselves with location of all said materials, size, colors, and perform physical labor for extended periods of time in all weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain. dusty high winds, etc.).
Qualifications
Prior experience operating heavy equipment is preferred but not necessary.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Willingness to learn about the industry.
Ability to provide and receive feedback from peers, supervisors, and customers.
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment as needed (i.e. grease, wash, blow out air filters and radiators, etc.)
Help load customers' orders by utilizing the equipment on-site.
Monitor Environmental compliance (dust) of area.
Help maintain a presentable and friendly environment in and around the store/yard.
Ensure products are stocked and orderly.
Operate various types of heavy equipment such as: water trucks, front-end wheel loaders, forklifts, dump trucks.
Physical Requirements
Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 60 pounds.
Schedule
Monday to Friday
Overtime
Weekends as needed
