Advanced Equipment Operation and Training (Expertise or Proficiency)
- Functions as an expert operator on at least one type of complex heavy equipment used in the quarry, such as loaders, haul trucks, or crushers (if applicable), demonstrating exceptional skill, efficiency, and precision.
- May also be proficient in operating multiple equipment types, ensuring flexibility and adaptability within the production process.
- Plays a vital role in training new operators, providing comprehensive instruction on safe and efficient equipment operation techniques.
- Identifies opportunities to optimize equipment usage based on their in-depth understanding of equipment capabilities and performance.
Plant Operations and Troubleshooting (Leadership and Problem-Solving)
Possesses a comprehensive understanding of plant operations and the interdependencies between different equipment and processes.Leads troubleshooting efforts for complex equipment malfunctions, applying their knowledge and experience to diagnose problems and develop effective repair solutions.Works independently to perform a wide range of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, minimizing reliance on external mechanics for routine repairs.May take the initiative to identify and address potential equipment issues before they escalate into major breakdowns.Leadership, Safety, and Production
Serves as a crew leader, overseeing the work of less experienced operators and providing guidance on safe and efficient equipment operation practices.Champions a culture of safety by setting a positive example, strictly adhering to protocols, and actively promoting safety awareness among all crew members.Contributes significantly to meeting and exceeding production targets through exceptional equipment operation, leadership, and proactive maintenance strategies.May participate in production planning and improvement initiatives, sharing their expertise and insights to optimize overall quarry operations.Communication, Collaboration, and Documentation
Maintains clear and concise communication with supervisors, mechanics, and other operators regarding equipment status, complex repairs, production updates, and safety concerns.Collaborates effectively with team members to troubleshoot equipment issues, optimize production processes, and ensure a safe work environment.Documents equipment maintenance activities meticulously, keeping accurate records for future reference and ensuring knowledge transfer.May be responsible for creating or updating training materials for new operators.Additional Responsibilities
