A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NURSING HOUSE SUPERVISOR:
The House Supervisor promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization at all times. Will assess patient care requirements on each unit by making rounds at least every 2 hours which includes all areas of the hospital. Assess acuity of care of patients for staffing needs. Develop and implement a staffing plan for the shift based on acuity, census and available staff. Staffing is adjusted to such every 4 hours throughout the 12 hour shift. Serves as a resource for staff in solving clinical problems. Provides immediate follow-up , documentation, and communication of incidents to appropriate Management/Administration. Works collaboratively with physicians to ensure that quality and competent care is rendered in all phases of patient care within the units. Works with the team to ensure that the highest level of patient satisfaction is reached throughout the continuum. Rounds on all patients in the facility every shift to ensure a positive patient experience. Monitors staff attendance and reports data to department leaders. Assist with all emergent situations that occur within the facility. Reports any issues to the Administrator on call as needed. Covers the facility to perform nursing administrative leadership and management during weekends, nights, and holidays ensuring all facility standards are maintained. Assist staff to interpret change in a positive manner.
