Pharmacy Tech - PT

Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                        

1. Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of medication and ensures their proper handling, storage, and security
2. Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock, supplies, and medication rooms
3. Accurately fills unit-dose medication orders and delivers medications to nursing units in a timely manner after pharmacist has checked them
4. Complies with policy and procedures when dispensing and handling drugs in pharmacy and other departments
5. Assists in maintaining appropriate inventory levels in ADM and pharmacy. Actively contributes to team discussions regarding inventory management.
6. Accurately completes assigned monthly Unit Inspections on a timely basis
7. Assists pharmacist in ADM restock, by generating necessary reports, and accurately filling ADM
8. Accurately completes daily billing procedures as assigned (IE pending and waste charges)
9. Complies with Rules and Regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy in accurately preparing IVs as assigned, utilizing aseptic technique, under the supervision of a pharmacist
10. Maintains competence required for current Job Description and demonstrates knowledge in all areas identified in the “Initial/Annual Competence Checklist”.
11. Accurately performs assigned duties/projects as specified by the director or staff pharmacist in a timely manner
12. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate management
