POSITION SUMMARY: | ||||||||||
Answer inquiries and provide information to the general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties regarding activities conducted at establishment and location of departments, offices, and employees within the organization. As an a backup admitting clerk will ensure the quality of patient registrations to the hospital by obtaining thorough and accurate information in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires the Representative to interact with ancillary departments and staff to ensure quality care for all patients. The clerk also serves as a patient resource in matters concerning financial/payment arrangements and will discuss financial matters for up-front collections or payment arrangements when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Provides ID badges to visitors/vendors and etc. | ||||||||||
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: | ||||||||||
High school graduate or equivalent. Requires excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills. Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Tact, diplomacy, flexibility and the ability to adjust with patient flows. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to problem solve. | ||||||||||
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: | ||||||||||
Attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge and skill in the use of scanner, fax, and electronic health record technology. Knowledge of HIPAA medical privacy regulations and practices. Customer service skills. Ability to work as part of a health care team. Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment. | ||||||||||
