Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of the hospital's quality, risk, and compliance programs.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to prevent and mitigate potential risks to patients, staff, and the organization.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of patient complaints, incidents, adverse events, and near-misses, ensuring that corrective actions are taken.
  • Collaborate with department heads to establish quality performance indicators and monitor performance metrics.
  • Provide ongoing training and education to staff on quality, risk management, and compliance practices.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and senior leadership.
  • Assist administration and leadership with preparation for regulatory surveys, inspections, and accreditation reviews
  • Act as a resource for hospital staff on compliance-related matters, offering guidance and support to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and compliance initiatives, making recommendations for improvement as necessary.
  • Develop and implement continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives to improve patient care, reduce risks, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date on healthcare regulations, trends, and best practices to ensure the hospital remains compliant and operationally efficient.
  • Work closely with the hospital leadership team to ensure that quality and risk management priorities align with organizational goals.

Requirements

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality management, risk management, or compliance in a healthcare setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements (e.g., CMS, The Joint Commission).
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with risk management or quality improvement software is a plus.
