Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Portable sawmill Operator to join our team. We are a timber frame home and barn building company that produces are own timbers and lumber. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating sawmill machinery and equipment in a safe efficient manor, ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work safely around others.
Duties
- Operate woodmizer sawmills and power tools to produce high-quality timbers and framing component's.
- Perform setup and calibration of machinery according to specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and light maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with team members to build and assemble products as per design requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety at all times.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance as needed.
- Assist in millwork tasks and support carpentry projects when required.
Skills
- Proficiency in machining processes and the use of various power tools.
- Experience with woodmizer lt70 sawmill is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of log and lumber production and handling.
- Familiarity with chainsaws, hand tools, and other measuring instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
