We are looking for a full-time dental assistant to support the Dr. and team with simple to advanced procedures including radiography, composites, crowns, endodontics, cosmetic, extractions, surgical procedures (such as bone grafting and implant placement), and more. The individual needs to be a team player who can help assist with sterilization, answering phone calls when necessary, managing appointments, cleaning and disinfecting along with setup of operatories for procedures. Our office is digital and we use the latest technology including in-office digital impression machines (Primescan or Omnicam) and Cerec (MCXL) mill for same day restorations, as well as a digital CT for performing cone beam CT scans.
Responsibilities:
The dental assistant's primary role is to support the clinical treatment and care of our patients from the time of the initial greeting until the patient is finished with their care. Other responsibilities include listening to and educating patients on procedures, working within the Dr's schedule to optimize efficiency, adhering to all OSHA & CDC safety polices and guidelines, among other regulatory and best practices. Ability to maintain lab, operatory, and sterilization equipment and run necessary testing along with routine cleaning & disinfection. You will provide comprehensive post operative details and instructions to patients. The ideal dental assistant should possess exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, be able to take direction, possess an advanced knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology, and has a friendly outgoing demeaner with excellent organization skills and attention to details.
You’ll ensure excellent customer service and help to lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office policies along with meeting or exceeding all State and Federal regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care while making office procedures run as smooth as possible.
- Welcome customers in the dental office
- Prepare customers for checkups and treatment ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments and provide assistance to administrative members as necessary
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist in financial/payment collection procedures

Skills
- Proven experience as dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills

- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
- Nitrous oxide certification
- Additional certification or training is an asset (eg. EFDA)
