Job Summary
The Success Coach for the Trio Programs supports the Upward Bound, Achieve, and Complete student development and preparation for higher education by assisting with program coordination, maintaining records, coaching students, and building relationships with stakeholders. Responsibilities include recruitment, staff training, supporting TRIO SSS initiatives, and staying informed on trends to enhance student success. This role requires daily travel to RPS schools, occasional evening and weekend work, and campus presence during school closings. It is essential to fostering student achievement and advancing program goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.
General Duties :
- Support academic, social, and cultural enrichment activities, including planning the Upward Bound academic year and summer programs.
- Assist with recruiting, selecting, and screening Upward Bound participants, as well as training lead teachers, tutors, and peer mentors.
- Maintain participant records in the Blumen database to support the Annual Performance Report (APR) and ensure accurate documentation of personal and academic needs, progress, and Student Educational Plans (SEPs).
- Provide coaching to students during Study Plus sessions, assisting with homework, college applications, and navigating program software such as Nucleus and Simple Money.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, parents, students, and other stakeholders, communicating with tact and courtesy.
- Stay abreast of trends and best practices that support Upward Bound student success.
- Provide referrals to community or school resources as needed.
- Support the Eagle’s Nest food pantry and assist with TRIO SSS programs as needed, including working on campus during school closings.
- Travel as required, including daily travel to RPS Auburn and East High Schools, and attend job-related training, workshops, and conferences, with occasional work outside normal business hours.
Note : Regular attendance is essential for this role.
