- Serve as the administrative coordinator for various Workforce Development programs, including Truck Driver Training, CNC Machining, Tech Works, Collision Repair, and others, overseeing all associated administrative tasks.
- Coordinate recruitment, registration, orientation, career counseling, and payment processing for the programs.
- Act as the primary contact for specific programs such as truck driver training and non-credit CNC, handling student inquiries, coordinating registration meetings, and managing student files.
- Collaborate with instructors within the Workforce Development Department to address both student needs and program requirements, supporting the development and implementation of policies and procedures for workforce development programs.
- Support program expansion initiatives, including coordination of new Workforce Development programs.
- Develop and implement creative and business-oriented retention strategies to engage students across three key phases of their lifecycle: pre-arrival (Prospective), enrollment to graduation, and post-graduation professional career.
- Regularly monitor each student's activities within a given caseload through the college's CRM software, including class attendance, policy compliance, and assignment completion.
- Conduct regular meetings with students, promptly intervening if absences or missed appointments occur, and recommend tutoring for those falling behind.
- Assess students' life situations to identify barriers to success, connecting them with appropriate programs, agencies, and internal and external services for support, and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of these interventions.
- Foster positive relationships with students, program instructors, and other departments to create a supportive educational environment.
- Develop a comprehensive reporting method for all students, including current, prospective, and alumni, to track progress and outcomes effectively.
- Track key data metrics for the Workforce Development Department
- Participate in recruitment and outreach efforts for non-credit programs as needed, enhancing program visibility and student enrollment.
- Serve on Rock Valley College (RVC) committees as required, contributing to broader college initiatives and governance.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department and college initiatives, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the college's mission.
- Assist in the development of pathways between non-credit and credit courses.
- Assist in managing existing grants, identifying, and pursuing new funding opportunities.
- Coordinate advisory board meetings and sustain strong industry partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years’ experience working on data management, student recruitment, retention, career advising, and or onboarding
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite is required
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social science (e.g., sociology, psychology, humanities), or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
- Experience with cross-cultural awareness and work with a variety of student populations preferred
- Experience in collegiate and academic affairs preferred
- Bilingual is preferred
