Emergency Services Program Manager

Position Description : The incumbent in this position works as a Manager of the RACS Emergency Services Program and Rockbridge and Bath Regionals Crisis Intervention Team (RBR CIT) Assessment Site located at 241 Greenhouse Road, Lexington VA. The Emergency Services Program provides 24 / 7 emergency psychiatric services to residents in the Rockbridge Area Community Services catchment area. The incumbent reports directly to the Director or Clinical Services.
The incumbent is responsible for managing the overall planning, coordination, and monitoring of the 24 / 7 Emergency Services program and RBR CIT Assessment Site. The incumbent is responsible for the clinical and administrative supervision of emergency services and RBR CIT staff. In carrying out assigned position responsibilities, the incumbent receives regular supervision from the Director of Clinical Services and is required to exercise sound judgment, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, in accordance with RACS policies and procedures and HIPAA.
Required Qualifications :
- Master's Degree in human services related field, mental health, and / or substance abuse experience
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an LCSW, LPC, or LCP
- Minimum of five (5) years of behavioral health managerial experience
- Certified Pre-Screener in the State of Virginia or eligible for such and be certified within 3 months of hire
- Knowledge of : Mental illness, substance abuse and intellectual disabilities; Psychotropic medications; Etiology and treatment of major psychiatric and substance disorders; Communication skills (Oral, Written, and Interpersonal); Clinical case work providing crisis assessment and intervention activities; Mental health and substance abuse service delivery programs and systems for children and adults who may utilize the emergency services system; Mental Health and Substance Abuse outpatient treatment modalities including individual and group; Emergency services, crisis intervention, and pre-screening for hospitalization; Inter-agency coordination
- Skills in : Intake and assessment for mental health and substance abuse; Crisis assessment and crisis intervention; Crisis intervention strategies for children and adults; Coordinating crisis services for children and adults; Written, Oral, and Interpersonal Communications; Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs; Use of electronic health records systems; Organization, prioritizing and time management; Outreach services; Developing program goals and objectives; Assessment techniques; Clinical supervision of clinical staff; Inter-agency coordination; Community relations
