Description: The Pre-College Health Career Coordinator is a full-time (40 hours/week) in-person position, responsible for developing and implementing strategies to inspire and support students from various educational levels to pursue careers in health professions. The coordinator will work with middle school, high school, and post-secondary students, collaborating with teachers, administrators, faculty, and health professions education personnel to create impactful educational experiences.
Specific program activities include the establishment of educational partnerships, identifying promising students, and organizing academic enrichment activities to prepare students’ successful entry and completion of health professional training programs. This position focuses on expanding health career awareness and access for students across our 15-county service region.
Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline, education, or related field and at least 2 years of experience working with diverse student populations, with a background in teaching, recruitment, or healthcare.
Applicants must have the ability to perform both on a team and independently. Strong communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills are essential for this position. Must be able to foster partnerships with educational institutions, healthcare organizations and community groups, with a strong attention to detail, and flexibility and willingness to travel within the 15-county service region for events and outreach (nights and weekends as needed).
