Job Summary
This position is responsible for the proper functioning distribution and security of the electronic voting equipment and other related functions to the voting process as assigned.
Essential Functions

Maintains voting equipment and supplies in accordance with applicable laws and rules.
Ensures compliance with state and county election requirements.
Serves as custodian of records and excess supplies of materials and forms used in the election process. Troubleshoots problems with voting equipment (Including Election Day).
Perform Logic & Accuracy Tests on Voting Equipment (Touch Screen, Optical Scan, and Express Poll units).
Prepares voting equipment for each election, ensuring appropriate quality control measures are in place to protect the integrity of the election process.
Tabulates election data to produce election results for the Board of Elections and State Elections Office.
Monitors the election supplies inventory; compiles data and prepares reports identifying election supplies needed for each voting district; is responsible for ordering and receiving election supplies.
Prepares voting equipment for Absentee and Election Day Voting. Oversees and participates in the preparation of polling place supply kits.
Provides technical support for the use and maintenance of equipment on Election Day; provides training
of technical staff as necessary; produces Election Day support documentation as required.
Essential Functions (Continued)
Maintains all electronic voting equipment, ensuring proper calibration and protection of the equipment. Ensures and Maintains the security of the election system equipment and documents while in storage.
Plans and recommends precinct splits and consolidations for elections, ensuring the accuracy of these retention procedures.
Responsible for organizing and storing election supplies and equipment (i.e., ballot boxes, ballots, voting booths); responsible for the distribution and retrieval of voting supplies and equipment; responsible for cleaning and maintaining voting equipment.
Prepares in-house sample ballots for dissemination to the public and posting them at the polls. Coordinate delivery of voting equipment to the voting facilities prior to Election Day.
Maintain logs, forms, and Incident reports as required for any assignment (particularly on Election Day). Prepares, conducts, and tabulates the votes of all school and organizational elections.
Provides public demonstration and awareness of voting equipment.
Develops training curricula for users of commercial software products as necessary; delivers training programs both individually and in a classroom setting; keeps users aware of new products and applications available for use.
Coordinates election activities with businesses, other governmental entities, and citizens in accordance with the voter outreach program
Assists In other areas of the Elections and Voter Registration Office as assigned.

Coordinate a variety of interrelated areas of election and voter registration. Ability to effectively communicate, both in written and spoken word.

The ability to compare and judge the readily observable, functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of assigned voting equipment and applicable components, data, or people.
Read, understand, and analyze legal terminology relating to elections and voter registration. Knowledge of various computer applications, including word processing, data entry, and spreadsheets. Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Negotiate arrangements for the use of facilities for polling places and for receiving returns and holding training classes.
Ability to read maps.
Knowledge of supervisory techniques.
Produce written documents with clearly organized thought using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.
Explain complicated technical problems in simple, non-technical language.
Work cooperatively with the general public, department staff, elected officials, and other county employees.
Ability to lift more than 40 pounds unassisted. Ability to see, including color and depth perception.
Working Conditions
The work Is typically performed indoors. Must successfully complete a 90-day test period to continue employment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Five (5) years experience in mechanical, computer, electrical, or electronics repair work.
- Two (2) years of which must be in a lead capacity.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license.
