The Systems Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure. Working in close collaboration with the Senior Systems Engineer, this role ensures the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of network, server systems, and enterprise applications. The Systems Engineer provides advanced technical support, system administration, and troubleshooting, while contributing to the development and implementation of IT solutions aligned with organizational goals. A primary focus of this role is the management and optimization of network technologies.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless operation of software, systems, and networks that align with business objectives.
Assist in the design, deployment, and support of applications, system updates, and infrastructure enhancements.
Partner with the Senior Systems Engineer to define system requirements, resolve issues, and troubleshoot network infrastructure.
Research hardware and software solutions, offering recommendations for system improvements and acquisitions.
Manage and support fixed and wireless LAN/WAN segments to ensure secure and efficient connectivity.
Configure and maintain Microsoft Server and VMware environments, including Active Directory, SQL Server, and Office365.
Monitor, test, and improve network and server performance, generating performance reports as needed.
Deploy security patches, perform regular updates, and troubleshoot system issues to ensure network and system integrity.
Essential Functions (Continued)Integrate servers and enterprise software such as database, e-mail, print, and backup systems. Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and service records. Manage user accounts and permissions, enforcing proper security measures.
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.
Collaborate across teams, including senior engineers, application support, and network specialists, to achieve organizational goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and network security.
Proficiency in Windows Server systems administration and enterprise network infrastructure. Understanding of security best practices and system management protocols.
Experience with Cisco, Microsoft Active Directory, SOL Server, VMware, and Office365.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly for network devices and configurations.
Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to independent or team-oriented work. Strong customer service and team collaboration focus.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience with Cisco systems, Windows Server administration, and enterprise network technologies.
- OR have a combination of education, training and work experience that is equivalent to #1 and #2 above that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Practical experience with enterprise server and network infrastructures, including Microsoft and VMware environments.
- Valid State of Georgia Driver's License.
- Five (5 ) years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in a government or public sector environment.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or VMware certifications.
