Organization Overview
The Development Program provides in excess of $50 million in private support annually toward the mission of The Rockefeller University,which is to improve the understanding of life for the benefit of humanity. Working with the Board of Trustees and volunteer groups,including The Rockefeller University Council,the Committee on Trust and Estate Plans,and the Women and Science and Parents and Science Initiatives,the Development Office oversees all private fund-raising at the University,including annual,capital,and endowment campaigns.
Overview
The Development Assistant will support the University's outreach programming and events, as well as lend support to other Development Office programs as needed. As part of a four-member team, the Development Assistant will assist in the planning and implementation of programs that build community and foster collaborations both within and without the greater University community, including scientific symposia, lecture series, prize presentations, concerts, community outreach events, and Convocation.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include :
- Draft, proofread and copy edit written materials (letters, proposals, budgets, reports, briefing materials, and promotional pieces)
- Update and maintain accurate records in databases and tracking systems including an online room reservations system
- Organize site visits and assist with development of donor research and events outreach
- Responsible for maintaining database records and assisting with general office duties (scheduling, phone, mail, etc.)
