Position Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for performing various materials, crops and other product handling duties with assigned forklift / tractor equipment in a safe manner. The Equipment Operator also performs duties related to inventory documentation, safety procedures and paperwork needed to support the operations of the assigned department.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

Perform daily pre-operation equipment inspections and document findings in assigned forms.
Maintain assigned equipment clean, report any maintenance conditions to facilities manager.
Transport, move, inspect, secure, stack, count, load / unload materials and / or equipment as directed.
Maintain delivery schedule on time and prioritize jobs according to urgency or directed by supervisor or department head.
Always maintain a high level of responsibility.
Perform any other related or assigned duties.

Requirements :

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)

High School Diploma or equivalent and / or previous on the job experience required.

Previous experience handling forklifts or similar machinery required.

Ability to read and understand manuals and other written operating procedures.

Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.

Forklift certification or eligibility to be certified upon first day of employment.

Physical Requirements

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close distance and color vision.

It is not typical for a new hire to be offered the highest end of the salary range. Pay decisions are made based on the unique circumstances of each candidate and position.
