Job Description
This Equipment Operator Specialist role is responsible for overseeing and operating machinery, maintaining accurate records of tasks related to assigned machines, and performing routine maintenance. Additionally, this position involves conducting quality inspections of production to ensure activities are performed effectively and efficiently. You will work closely with the department head and crew leads to complete crop production schedules and standards.
Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain assigned machinery, including trimming machines, potting machines, bale buster machines, elle-pot machines, seeding machines, spacing robots, sticking robots, automatic sorting/grading systems, watering tunnels, sleeving machines, boxing machines, and other equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of tasks related to assigned machines, including production and efficiency data.
• Conduct quality inspections of production to ensure activities are performed effectively and efficiently.
• Partner with department head and crew leads to complete crop production schedules and standards.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 years of experience working with equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, oral and verbal.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division) required.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, such as warm, moist, wet areas, indoor and outdoor areas.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed, especially during peak seasons.
• Internal certification of proficiency required.
