Rocket IT Compliance and Automation Team - Suwanee, GA - Full Time

As Systems Administrator, you will specialize in process automation and SOC 2 compliance. Your focus will be on optimizing IT operations through automation to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and accelerate incident response times. You will ensure that all systems and processes adhere to the SOC 2 Trust Service Criteria, implementing robust security measures, monitoring system availability, and ensuring the confidentiality and privacy of sensitive data. This role requires continuous assessment of infrastructure, the automation of routine tasks, and the documentation of compliance controls to meet regulatory and audit requirements. Additionally, the Systems Administrator must stay current with industry best practices, security threats, and automation tools to support ongoing compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate system tasks to improve efficiency, reduce manual errors, and streamline daily operations
- Ensure systems and processes comply with SOC 2 standards, including security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy requirements
- Ensure the health and function of key applications (PSA, RMM, dashboard), infrastructure (server hosts, VMs), and network (firewalls, switches, ISP)
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security continuously
- Implement and manage security protocols to protect sensitive data
- Manage and maintain regular data backups, ensuring data integrity, availability, and quick recovery in case of system failure or disaster recovery situations
- Maintain detailed documentation of security protocols, compliance controls, and system configurations for audit readiness
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, software, and applications to ensure seamless service delivery
- Collaborate with teams to improve infrastructure design, automation, and operational processes
- Perform regular software updates, patches, and system upgrades to maintain security and system integrity
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply appropriate fixes to mitigate risks and ensure compliance
- Prepare regular reports detailing system performance, compliance status, and areas for improvement
- 4-year college degree (IT relevance preferred)
- 3-5 years systems administration experience
- Proven competency in Windows Server, virtual machines, and AWS cloud environments
- Other helpful experience: ConnectWise Automate and/or other automation tools
Systems Administrators must possess three or more of the following industry certifications:
- CompTIA A , Network , Server , CCNA, or Security
- Microsoft MD-102, MS-102, or AZ-104
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- VMware Certified Professional
- ITIL 4 Foundation
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Must have visual acuity
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Rocket IT supports an office-centric hybrid model that promotes teamwork and fosters strong relationships between team members. Full-time team members are typically expected to report to our Suwanee office at least 3 days per week and may choose to work remotely the other 2 days. Some exceptions may apply.
