About The Role
- Configure and monitor storage and archival needs
- Troubleshoot storage issues and engage server engineers, database administrators and application owners when necessary
- Oversee storage networking infrastructure
- Monitor resource usage and plan for known or predicted growth
- Fulfill storage, backup and data-protection needs of internal systems
- Produce and maintain technical documentation
- Participate in an on-call rotation and work flexible hours
- Coordinate equipment needs with internal customers
- Ability to think analytically and creatively
- Excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and design
- Knowledge of Cisco MDS switches, NX-OS and SAN networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of Fibre Channel & NVMeoF protocols and communication flows
- Knowledge of Software Defined Storage [SDS] solutions; Ceph preferred
- Working knowledge of network file systems and concepts, including CIFS/SMB and NFS
- Experience using the following systems: NetApp FAS Series Arrays, NetApp Data ONTAP Cluster, Dell/EMC Isilon & Unity, IBM V7300, SAN and NAS hardware and protocols, and VMware ESXi 7.0/8.0
