Summary/Objective
The Packager I is responsible for all major packaging tasks, including the assembly of crates and boxes, and performing light-assembly work to prepare items for shipping. This role may also involve occasional work in the Blackening & Assembly department. This role ensures that products are securely packaged for delivery following company standards and customer specifications. The Packager I works collaboratively to meet production timelines and support business needs. This role will report directly to the Operations Supervisor.
Essential Functions

1. Assemble crates, boxes, and packaging materials according to specifications.
2. Perform light assembly work before packaging, ensuring product safety and compliance.
3. Inspect products and packaging for defects, ensuring they meet company standards.
4. Maintain an organized and clean work environment, following safety protocols.
5. Assist with loading and unloading packaged items.
6. Flex across departments as needed to support workflow efficiency.
7. Document daily packaging activities and any material usage in the ERP system.
8. Any/all other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and seldom lifting to 75lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, and steel toed work boots or shoes.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work will be determined by management. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday eight (8) hours per day. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands.
Requirements:Required Education and Experience
1. Must be 18 years or older.
2. High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience.
3. Capable of using all required hand tools, i.e drills, screwdrivers, nailguns, etc.
4. Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.
