Community Liaison
Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.
Our Community Liaisons are key members of Rockford Center who will assess the needs of patients, the community and the hospital in order to develop and maintain a long-term referral relationship which will generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet hospital census objectives.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Design and maintain an effective tracking system of persons admitted via professional referral sources to the facility
- Contact referral sources after referral to acknowledge admission and provide appropriate information; Set up communication log, obtain releases, distribute information to referral sources
- Respond to specific requests and needs of referral sources for information or materials, including, admission procedures, program descriptions and treatment plans
- Plan and lead events, provides tours, perform referral source in-services, act as a liaison between the Referral Source and the hospital, and seek out new business development opportunities for the hospital
- Develop new accounts and market in the private and public sectors as directed by the CEO and Director of Business Development
Essential Job Duties:
1. Designs and maintains an effective tracking system of persons admitted (via professional referral sources) to the facility.
2. Contacts referral sources after referral to acknowledge admission and provide appropriate information. Sets up communication log, obtains releases, distributes information to referral sources.
3. Responds to specific requests and needs of referral sources for information or materials, including, for example, admission procedures, program descriptions and treatment plans.
4. Assures prompt receipt of discharge summaries by referral source requiring this information.
5. Communicates in a timely fashion with potential referral resources to business development via tracking form.
6. Consistently engages and interacts with our patients and their families by using the treatment principles of Trauma Responsive Care.
7. Support facility internal and external customer service standards.
8. Follow Rockford Center Time and Attendance policy.
9. Will adhere to all safety policies and safe work practice.
10. Will adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Business-related field, Marketing, or Public Health preferred.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in volunteer management
- Strong public speaking and communication abilities
- Experience in program development and project management
- Proficiency in data collection and social media management
- Knowledge of addiction counseling and public health principles
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and administrative tasks
