Rockford Center is seeking a dynamic and talented Patient Accounting Representative to join our team!
Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Position Summary:
The selected candidate will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits for inpatient behavioral health services. This role involves coordinating with insurance providers to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement, as well as assisting patients with understanding their coverage options.
Responsibilities:
- Verifies Medicare benefits via the CWF and identifies potential financial issues timely. Informs Assessment Department and CBO Director of financial issues immediately upon identifying matter.
- Verifies insurance benefits within a 24-hour time frame for all admissions received during regular business hours. Weekend admissions should be verified no later than Monday of the following week.
- Initiates phone calls to insurance companies to determine extent of coverage, certification requirements and other policy limitations, deductible and co-insurance.
- Enters verification into the AS400 system, timely and accurately. Ensure that financial class and claim submission address is correct. Notes should be entered immediately following verification if patient is in-house.
- Reviews all insurance information loaded by the Assessment and Referral Department for accuracy and completeness. Identify and rectify problems.
- Notifies CBO Director of negative trends pertaining to payers.
- Scanning admission documents onto Document Imaging.
- Completes review of Admission packets in a timely manner.

- High school diploma/GED.
- Previous insurance verifcation experience and medical terminology desirable.
- Strong communication skills, excellent customer service and organization skills, highly effective listening skills, and strong clinical skills.
