Compensation Range: $34.28 - $35.80 per hour
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Performs electrical work involving responsibility for skilled tasks within the trade in the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and of electrical equipment and fixtures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Performs general electrical installation repair, construction, and remodeling work
- Maintains electrical systems, motors and appliances which operate on alternating and direct circuits and high voltage lines, through panels, switches, meters, and circuit breakers
- Repairs motors, replaces bearings and other parts as needed. Converts motors and similar appliances to correct voltage rating
- Remodels wiring systems
- Maintains lighting systems and replaces ballasts
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution plus two years’ experience as an electrician and four years of apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience within the trade.

- Demonstrates ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, plans and blueprints.

- Demonstrates the ability to multitask
WORK CALENDAR: 12 Months
WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
