- High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.)
- Successful basketball coaching experience or college coaching/playing experience (preferred)
- Willingness to have a flexible schedule
- Knowledge of MHSAA rules and regulations
- CPR/AED certification
- First aid knowledge (preferred)

Summary of the Freshman Boys Head Basketball Coach Position:HEAD COACH
Under the supervision of the East Grand Rapids High School (EGRHS) Athletic Director, the freshman boys basketball head coach is responsible for the EGRHS boys freshman basketball program. The coach will develop individual and team skills and continue to build upon the “Tradition of Excellence” of the East Grand Rapids athletic program. The coach will work in collaboration with the Athletic Director to build fundamental skills and prepare athletes for competition.
Essential Functions and Qualifications:
Reports To: Athletic Director
Compensation: Per Contract Start Date: November 12, 2025
Duration: 1 Year (Renewable based on recommendation of the Athletic Director)
