The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Rockhurst University is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Clinical Instructor. This 10 months (August-May) Clinical Instructor position provides clinical supervision and instruction in the Master of Science program in Communication Sciences and Disorders and assists in clinical department needs.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical supervision of graduate students at local clinical sites and on campus; the clinical supervisor must be on-site and present when graduate students treat and evaluate clients.
- Management of clinical and student records, understanding of HIPPA, FERPA and other state and federal regulations.
- Management of on and off-campus clinical collaborations.
- Documentation of student hours, student evaluations, site visits, community screening program, management of collaborative programs, and assisting the Clinical Coordinator.
- Service on departmental committees and admission events.
- Other duties as assigned relating to clinical supervision.
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Eligibility for Missouri and Kansas State licensure in speech-language pathology.
- At least 3-5 years clinical experience with a variety of pediatric and adult speech-language disorders.
- At least 3 years’ experience with clinical supervision of students in the university setting and with Calipso platform.
Candidates must have strong written and oral presentation skills; strong organizational skills including the ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks and work independently; excellent ability to work with others including colleagues, staff, and students. Individuals must be able to supervise in multiple areas of clinical speech-language practice. Experience in the areas of articulation, child language, and pragmatic language are preferred.
