Job Summary
A direct support staff’s (DSP) primary responsibility is to provide support to individuals we serve in a job setting.
Qualifications Requirements
· Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
· Must be able to pass background, OIG, Medicaid, and fingerprint checks.
· Must be CPR and First Aid certified.
· Have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
· Must be able to work outdoors
· Must be able to get to work and attend mandatory meeting and trainings.
· Have the ability to assist individuals in daily tasks including animal maintenance including but not limiting to cleaning horse stalls, changing waters, raking shed rows.
Responsibilities
- Staff will support the individuals at work ensuring their care, welfare, safety and security.
- Staff will provide the level of supervision that is required as listed in their support plans
- Staff will need to document outcomes, supportive goals, and objectives daily as stated in each individual plans and maintain accurate and thorough documentation.
- Staff will document, monitor, and report any incidents to program manager or management team including any medical and behavior concerns.
- Staff must be punctual and have good attendance.
- Staff must be professional, ensure cleanliness, and organize assigned work area.
- Staff must respect the confidentiality and privacy of all individuals we serve including the agency.
- Staff must be able to accept direction, supervision, and constructive criticism.
- Staff must be able to work in a team.
- Staff must advocate for the individuals we serve.
- Staff must keep good records, including work hours, absence, safety on the job and concerns.
- Staff will complete new employee orientation upon hire and annual training every year there after
- Staff will respect the rights of the individuals, individual’s family, and or guardian.
- Staff must report any suspected abuse, neglect, exploration, or mistreatment of any individuals in accordance with the policy and procedures.
- Staff must abide by the COVID guidelines and policies to ensure the safety of the individuals and other team members on property.
- Staff should be able to assist in motivating and/or asking individuals to work.
- Staff will be responsible for completing daily tasks if not done by individuals.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
