We are seeking a Doula to join our OB team!
Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to Clark, and Madison County area populations.
We are seeking a Doula to work with our OB Team to provide continuous emotional, physical and informational support to our patients during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest experience possible. This individual works with the RHCHC Newborn Coordinator to provide education prior to the delivery regarding the care of the newborn, patient advocacy department to ensure social needs are identified and partially addressed prior to delivery, and provides intrapartum support, when possible, to the patient at time of labor and delivery. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – Hourly position

Education Requirements:
Must be certified by the Ohio Board of Nursing per their requirements as outlines below: A requirement that a Doula either be certified by a doula certification organization (Such as DONA) and have training in racial bias, health disparities, and cultural competency or, if not certified, education and experience considered by the board to be appropriate, as specified in the rules see 4723-24-02, Certification.
Must possess computer skills and experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Billing experience, especially regarding Medicaid billing and processes, is a plus.

Education and/or Experience: Must be certified by the Ohio Board of Nursing per their requirements as outlined below:

For complete rules visit 4723-24. ), Doula certification organization certificates must be sent directly from the agency to doula@Nursing.Ohio.gov;
(b) A requirement that the results of a criminal records check conducted in accordance with section 4723.091 of the Revised Code demonstrate that the applicant is not ineligible for certification in accordance with section 4723.092 of the Revised Code. Information on what is required and instructions how to obtain a criminal records check can be found here. Both BCI and FBI background checks are required.

Please provide a list of 5 client names, dates of service, and a general description of the Doula services provided to the clients over the immediate 3 years prior to application submission.
Documentation provided to the Ohio Board of Nursing as per above will also be submitted to Rocking Horse Community Health Center.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one–on–one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to consistently carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration: A current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position.

The position involves regular interaction with patients and other members of the public. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues may occur. Schedule is dependent upon organization needs and may include evenings and weekends. May be sent home if demand is low or be requested to work overtime when demand is high.
