Seeking Medical Assistants to join our team!
Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to the Clark and Madison County communities.
The organization is seeking Medical Assistants for our South Limestone, Springfield OH location. The Medical Assistant assists medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients including taking patient vitals, blood drawing, administering immunization and medications including injections. Must be comfortable working with children in addition to adults.

Position Info:
Position Title: Medical Assistant
Primary Service Center: Springfield, Ohio
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – Hourly position.
Work Hours: Full-time position
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required in addition to a Certificate of Medical Assisting Program is required.
One (1) to Three (3) years’ experience in a Healthcare setting preferred.
Experience working with an Electronic Health Record Program (EHR) is a plus.
Qualifications
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and Certification of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assisting program required.
2. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required. Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or other certifying organization preferred.
3. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information one-on-one and small group situations to patients, clients and other employees of the organization.
4. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratios and percentages to draw and interpret bar graphs.
5. Computer skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computing knowledge. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications, and Electronic Health Record program.
6. General skills: Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting. Working knowledge of infection control procedures and safety procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and clinic staff.
7. Confidentiality: Required to understand and adhere to the privacy policies and procedures. Patient Health Information (PHI) is confidential, only the minimal amount of PHI necessary to accomplish the internal purpose is to be shared or released by employee.
8. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
9. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The position involves regular interaction with patients and other members of the general public. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, may occur. Schedule is dependent upon organization and patient needs, and includes evenings and weekends. May be sent home if demand is low, or be requested to work overtime when demand is high.
