Janitorial Worker Opportunity

Job Summary:

As a Custodian with Rockingham County Schools, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school buildings. Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of school buildings, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, washing walls, woodwork, and fixtures, and policing buildings to empty trash receptacles and pick up debris.
2. Perform various custodial tasks, including dusting and cleaning desks and other furniture, empting trash receptacles, and depositing recyclable material in proper receptacles.
3. Operate vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, brooms, mops, leaf blowers, etc., and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
4. Prepare requisition forms to obtain necessary supplies for the coming work week.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Some experience in custodial work or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in completing work assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
