Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or 48 semester hours from an accredited college or university
- Ability to explain concepts effectively to students
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with classroom teachers and students
- Ability to work with students individually and in small groups
Responsibilities:
- Provides supplemental academic assistance to students
- Conducts instructional activities assigned by the content teacher with individual students or small groups
- Collaborates with content teachers regarding the progress and individual needs of students
- Collaborates with the content teacher to deliver differentiated instruction for students based on available local and state student data
- Assists the content teacher in preparing instructional materials
- Maintains appropriate records and reporting tools regarding services and student progress
- Attends required training sessions to learn strategies for working with students
- Participates in staff development programs to improve job performance
