Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing & Revenue Coordinator who's ready to take ownership of key billing and revenue processes-and grow into a leadership role over time. This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly in areas like claims submission, prior authorizations, payment posting, and collections, while supporting and guiding a small team.

Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Revenue Cycle Work
- Participate in daily billing activities such as charge entry, claims follow-up, and payment posting.
- Support prior authorization processes and ensure timely approvals for procedures.
- Help resolve insurance denials, submit appeals, and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Monitor patient accounts, and support accurate posting of payments, adjustments, and refunds.
- Assist in managing billing for vision plans, Veterans Affairs, and surgery center services.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding.
- Handle medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and negotiating payment plans when necessary.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.
Patient & Payer Communication
- Support patient billing inquiries with professionalism and clarity
- Ensure proper documentation and communication with insurance companies and external partners
What We're Looking For:
Must-Have:
- Experience in medical billing, revenue cycle, or operational finance functions (examples could include vendor management, Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to take initiative and grow in a role
- Comfort learning new software platforms (e.g. practice management software, EHR software, and basic Excel reporting)
- Positive team player who's ready to help wherever needed
Nice-to-Have (We're Happy to Train):
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with claims submissions, denials, and prior authorizations
- Familiarity with ophthalmology, surgery center billing, or vision plans
- Exposure to Veterans Affairs claim processing
- Leadership experience or interest in team development
